After decades of grateful emersion in this unique God-crafted beauty, we have compiled our personal knowledge of these twelve major parks that form the majority of the Grand Circle Adventure.
Book 1, Bryce & Zion Driving-Hiking Tour Guide, focused on Bryce, Cedar Breaks and Zion (including Kolob Canyon) national parks.
Book 2 is approximatly 1,000 page book that includes those 3 parks, all appendixes and their 22 tours. It adds Kodachrome, Capitol Reef & Cathedral Valley, Canyonlands-Maze, Goblin Valley, Arches and Canyonlands-Island In The Sky parks. Plus 51 additional tours. Total becomes nine major parks from Zion to Arches National Park and 76 individual tours. These are detailed in Table of Contents below.
Book Tour Content
Our book is a combination of driving, walking, mountain biking and other tours such as rafting and horseback riding. There are suggestions of what to see and do, for each tour. We also identify free dry-camp (no facilities) sites and Hostels to reduce travel expense.
This book can be read on a desktop PC/Mac by downloading an ‘app’ from:
Embedded in this land is the enduring history of pioneers who settled here when it was barren except for native Indian occupation. In 1848, when the Mormons arrived from eastern U.S. and England, Utah belonged to the Mexican government who inherited from Spain by revolution. It was raw land. After a war with Mexico, the land became U.S. property. That lured more eastern pioneers from gold prospectors and outlaws to vast herds of cattle ranchers.
We have captured this fascinating history and blended it into each of our tours: Social experiment in the town of Orderville and it collapse; First pioneer settlement in Zion and Bryce and many other pioneer towns; Silver mining town of Silver Reef from riches to poverty; Outlaws, like the historic outlaw Butch Cassidy’s home and his history are not forgotten.
Also included are native Indian ruins that are hundreds of years old and their rock art are visited.
Your exact location is accomplished by using a meticulous identification of mileposts (post along the road indicating mileage) located at each mile (1.6 km) on every improved road. Where those mileposts are not available, we use actual miles from a designated reference point. Where applicable, Global Positioning data (GPS) is supplied to complement walking tours in remote areas. Using this collection of information, you will always know your exact location. Maps are included.
Planning Your Vacation/Holiday
There are approximate 1,000 pages in this e-book that incorporates the latest computer technology by extensive use of external Internet references. There are approximately 500 web sites, 190 YouTube video sites and 350 photographs for you to visualize these sites.
These external references provide additional touring information where you can visually see the hiking or bicycling trails. You can plan your trip at home to include driving tours, hiking, mountain biking and camping. Where applicable, we have included free camping areas.
Six appendixes provide additional trip information from medical to foreign visitor guide. Topographic route maps are included.
Book organization starts with the Table of Contents. Under each of the 3 major trips, there are individual Tours. For example, Trip 1, From St. George, Utah to Zion. Below that trip, there are 12 individual tours.
Clicking on a Table of Contents Trip or Tour, quickly leaps you to that selection. In that Tour, under 1.0 Information , there are Hyperlinks to other sections within that tour: 2-Visitor Center; 3-Services; 4-Lodging; 5-Camping, 6-Hiking; 7-Other Tours (Biking, Horse, Rafting, etc.) and 8-Driving Tours.
